10 Things To Do To A Co-Workers Desk

Now that we’re all back to work

I find it pretty amusing what people will go to to do pranks in our office. It got me wondering how much is to far and why exactly you would do it. That thought left rather quickly and it got my mind racing for different things I’ve done over the years to co-workers cubicles and what they’ve done to me.

The majority of the time the reason behind it was just to pull a good prank. Here are a few things that has happened and I’m always eager to hear different ideas.

1. Wrap It Up

That’s right wrap every.little.thing. You can use just about anything from wrapping paper to tape.

2. Sticky Notes

That’s right. Sticky note them. We have a lady in our office who loves to put sticky notes on just about every thing. So, when she went on vacation we did something similar to this:

3. Fill The Cube

This one is my personal favorite just for the sake of seeing the expression on my co-workers face. It’s the most fun for me when it comes to office pranks. What we’ve done is raid the recycle bin as well as all the fax cover letters/confirmations and fill up their cubicle such as:

Now if you don’t have the time nor the resources to do these type of things then I found out the “little things” work the best.

4. Disconnect mouse/keyboard: Takes 10 seconds to do and the co-worker 10 minutes to figure out.

5. Change Desktop: They might have a funny picture of kittens – change it to something extreme – only useful if you have their password.

6. Create A Desktop To Match Desktop: I LOVE DOING THIS ONE! Take a “Print Screen” of their desktop and then move all their icons to their My Documents so nothing is on the desktop. Now, replace the desktop image to the print screen image. Now, when they try to click on a folder nothing happens.

7. Glue It Down: Just like it says glue everything down. Now, this takes time and approval from their supervisor because it can screw up a desk if not done properly.  The results are hilarious though.

8. Remove Letters From Keyboard: Pretty self-explanatory but even funnier when they don’t notice it and start typing.

9. Change Email Signature: Another great one but must be careful on this one.

10. Vaseline:  Put it on the handset and mouse – watch their reaction.

I know there a TON more but these are just off the top that we’ve done in our office. What about your office – any ideas/suggestions?
